The SEC features a number of intriguing quarterbacks this season, including 3 guys who could end up being first-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft — Alabama’s Mac Jones, Florida’s Kyle Trask and Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond.

In CBS Sports’ latest Round 1 mock draft, analyst Chris Trapasso has Jones and Mond going in the first 32 picks, but not Trask. We’ve seen plenty of projections for Trask in Round 1, but these are some of the first projections for Jones and Mond in the first round.

As you can see below, they’re 2 of 10 SEC standouts projected to go in Round 1 by Trapasso. Jones would seemingly replace Drew Brees in New Orleans, while Mond could start for the Chicago Bears:

  • No. 3 — Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU — New York Giants
  • No. 9 — Alex Leatherwood, OL, Alabama — Denver Broncos
  • No. 10 — Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama — Dallas Cowboys
  • No. 13 — Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama — New England Patriots
  • No. 16 — Trey Smith, OL, Tennessee — Las Vegas Raiders
  • No. 17 — DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama — Cleveland Browns
  • No. 18 — Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M — Chicago Bears
  • No. 20 — Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama — Philadelphia Eagles
  • No. 26 — Mac Jones, QB, Alabama — New Orleans Saints
  • No. 27 — Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida — Green Bay Packers

There is still time for these projections to change, but for now, it’s interesting to see Jones’ and Mond’s draft stocks skyrocketing.
