LOOK: ESPN accidentally leaks NCAA women's bracket, 7 SEC teams included
The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament was set to announce its bracket on Monday evening.
Instead, the brackets leaked on ESPNU on Monday afternoon, and of course, it was captured by several people on Twitter.
So, without further ado, it appears that seven SEC teams made the field of 64 teams, led by Mississippi State, which snagged one of the four No. 1 seeds:

Here’s a breakdown of the SEC first-round matchups:
- No. 1 Mississippi State vs. No. 16 Southern
- No. 4 South Carolina vs. No. 13 Belmont
- No. 4 Texas A&M vs. No. 13 Wright State
- No. 6 Kentucky vs. No. 11 Princeton
- No. 7 Mizzou vs. No. 10 Drake
- No. 10 Auburn vs. No. 7 BYU
- No. 11 Tennessee vs. No. 6 UCLA
It’s notable that the Vols, a bubble team, got into the field, as there was some concern in Knoxville that their streak might come to an end.
In other notable news, the leak prompted ESPN to move the selection show up to 5 p.m. Eastern time, ruining events for schools that had planned to watch the show at 7 p.m. live:
So to recap: ESPN leaks the brackets by accident, and now has moved the selection show up, which now ruins the selection events schools around the country have scheduled for later tonight. https://t.co/GRvPmwUoxK
