Now that these former SEC standouts have a little spending money following their selections in the 2018 NFL Draft, they have to find something to do with the money.

That isn’t to say they have to spend it, but the temptation is likely very high for those of them that may not have had much money at all to spend this time last year. While several of the NFL rookies from the SEC plan to spend money on their parents, and some plan to save it, every player’s answer was unique according to a recent ESPN.com article.

Here are the answers provided by some of the notable former SEC players now suiting up for NFL teams:

  • Former Alabama receiver Calvin Ridley, Atlanta: “That’s easy. I’m going to help my mom get a place to stay and a nice car. That’s the first thing I’m going to do.”
  • Former South Carolina tight end Hayden Hurst, Baltimore: “Nothing really comes to mind – probably just put it all away.”
  • Former Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith, Chicago: “There’s not anything crazy that I would like. I pretty much have a car. … I’m not buying a house so there’s not really anything that I want to buy.”
  • Former Florida defensive lineman Taven Bryan, Jacksonville: “You know, I’m really excited at getting a house. Maybe like renting or something… I think the only thing I’m going to spend money on is, I’m a big gamer. I like gaming on PCs so I’ll have that set up. Maybe like a little study place so I can study film and stuff.”
  • Former Ole Miss defensive lineman Breeland Speaks, Kansas City: “To be honest, I haven’t really thought about it. My mom said [to] look at a house or look at a car but, right now, I’m just trying to take it all in.”
  • Former Georgia offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn, New England: “I’m definitely going to send my mom on vacation for at least a week and stack the rest.”
  • Former Georgia running back Sony Michel, New England: “I’m going to put it in the bank.”
  • Former Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evans, Tennessee: “Right now I’m just thinking about saving. My mom and dad, they could care less if I bought them anything. If I were to get them something, it would be all in my heart and what I want for them to have.”
  • Former Alabama defensive lineman Da’Ron Payne, Washington: “I’ll definitely take care of my parents.”
