When coaches are asked which games on the schedule are most important to them, they almost always give you the classic coachspeak answer and say every game is important.

However, we all know that there are games that simply mean more to each coach, even if they won’t admit it in public.

Heading into the 2018 season, there are some important games on each team’s schedule, but only one can be the game each coach wants to win most.

Here’s a look at one game on each team’s schedule that may mean the most to the head coach:

Nick Saban, Alabama — vs. Texas A&M (Week 4)

Every game is a must-win for the Crimson Tide, but Saban may take extra pride in beating former assistant Jimbo Fisher for the second-straight season (last year, Fisher was at Florida State).

Saban has a perfect record against his former assistants, and this will be his first chance to extend that streak in 2018.

Chad Morris, Arkansas — at Missouri (Week 13)

Morris is going to face some growing pains in his first year at the helm of the Razorbacks. However, winning a game against the Tigers, who have had the Hogs’ number the past two seasons, will be a positive way to end the season.

No, the Battle Line Rivalry isn’t as intense as some of the other SEC rivalries, but a win here would give Morris a big boost heading into the offseason.

Gus Malzahn, Auburn — at Alabama (Week 13)

Every year, the Iron Bowl is the biggest game in the state of Alabama. Both teams enter the 2018 season with high expectations, so it’s possible that this game serves once again as a de facto SEC West title game.

Auburn won last year, but the Tigers will need to beat their in-state rivals again this fall if they want to return to Atlanta for the SEC title game.

Ed Orgeron, LSU — vs. Alabama (Week 10)

Coach O knows that LSU coaches are measured by the success they have against Alabama, so this is a must-win game for him.

In LSU’s favor is the fact that the game will be held at Tiger Stadium. It won’t be an easy game, but it’ll be one that the Tigers need, and the fans will definitely bring their best to the Week 10 showdown.

Joe Moorhead, Mississippi State — vs. Florida (Week 5)

Dan Mullen led Mississippi State to national prominence before leaving for Florida this offseason. Now, it’s Moorhead’s squad and the Bulldogs are loaded with talent.

The Mississippi State faithful will really want to win this game, and it’ll be a good early test for Moorhead, who will be eager to prove he can take this team to new heights.

Matt Luke, Ole Miss — vs. Mississippi State (Week 13)

The Egg Bowl is always a hotly contested game, and after Luke and the Rebels won the trophy last season, they’ll be hungry to win it again.

Also, since the Rebels are in the second year of their postseason ban, this will be their final game of 2018.

Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M — vs. Clemson (Week 2)

Fisher is quite familiar with the Tigers from his days in the ACC at Florida State. Clemson visits College Station in what will be Fisher’s first big test as the head coach of the Aggies.

If Fisher and the Aggies win this game, Texas A&M fans will go nuts. At the very least, it should be a fun game to watch.
