Following the release of our weekly SDS picks against the spread, the latest edition of college football predictions via The Power Rank have been released.

If you are unfamiliar with The Power Rank, it comes via Ed Feng’s analytics system, known better as The Power Rank. Feng’s metrics used have accurately predicted the winners of college football games from the 2015 season to the 2017 season 73.7 percent of the time — with an overall record of 1679-598. That number is even more impressive when you factor in that The Power Rank does not pick FBS games against FCS competition.

Last week in Week 2 predictions, The Power Rank went 6-2 forecasting SEC games, missing only the Florida-Kentucky and Arkansas-Colorado State outcomes.

Here is how The Power Rank predicts every Week 3 SEC game outside of the Kentucky-Murray State game as Murray is an FCS opponent:

  • Purdue will beat Missouri by 2.7 points at home. The Tigers have a 42 percent chance of winning on the road, according to the Power Rank.
  • Auburn will beat LSU by 12.7 points at home. The LSU Tigers have an 18 percent chance of winning this contest on the road.
  • Alabama will beat Ole Miss by 9.5 points on the road. The Rebels have a 24 percent chance of winning this game at home.
  • Georgia will beat Middle Tennessee State by 22.9 points at home. The Bulldogs have a 94 percent chance of winning this one at home.
  • Notre Dame will beat Vanderbilt by 23.3 points at home. The Commodores have a 6 percent chance of beating the Irish on the road.
  • Texas A&M will beat UL-Monroe by 16.5 points at home. The Aggies have an 88 percent chance of winning at home.
