Ten-Hut from the business end of the transfer portal, where the discharged of college football attempt to shine anew after departing their original (or even second) home. In the SEC’s case, there are plenty of quarterbacks who didn’t make it happen at their first or second stops — only to search for that pot of gold at the end of a different rainbow.

You know the names. You might not know where they all are now. So we offer this as a public service …

Feast your eyes on the top 10 former SEC quarterbacks power rankings after Week 5!

10. Woody Barrett, Kent State (last week: 8)

Barrett, a former Auburn QB for a hot minute, saw a little garbage time in Week 4 — going 4-of-4 for 55 yards and a TD in relief of starter Dustin Crum in Kent State’s 62-20 victory over Bowling Green. The Golden Flashes were off in Week 5, and travel to Wisconsin next Saturday.

9. Quinten Dormady, Central Michigan (last week: 9)

Dormady is out for a “significant amount of time,” according to Chippewas coach Jim McElwain, after injuring his knee 2 weeks ago. Dormady — a former Tennessee (and Houston) transfer was on the sidelines for Central Michigan on Saturday to watch his team lose to Miami 17-12. Season stats so far: 32-of-49 for 329 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT.

8. Ty Storey, Western Kentucky (last week: 10)

The former Arkansas Razorback earned his first start of the season against UAB, and earned an upset victory over the previously unbeaten Blazers! Storey went 15-of-24 for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns, including the game-winner in the 4th quarter. He also led the Hilltoppers in rushing with 13 carries for 26 yards.

7. Cole Kelley, Southeastern Louisiana (last week: 7)

There’s been another Cole Kelley sighting! The former Arkansas Razorback is still the backup to Chason Virgil in Hammond, but he got another nibble of action Saturday against Northwestern State. Kelley went 2-for-2 for 50 yards and 1 TD, and rushed 7 times for 12 yards and 1 TD in the Lions’ 44-27 victory.

6. Blake Barnett, South Florida (last week: 6)

Good news: Game action for Barnett! The former Alabama backup relieved redshirt freshman Jordan McCloud against N0. 24 SMU, and went 13-of-21 for 222 and 3 TDs. Bad news: The Bulls fell to 1-3 after losing to the Mustangs 48-21. Stay tuned: McCloud has a sprained right wrist, so Barnett could reclaim the starting job.

5. Justin McMillan, Tulane (last week: 4)

The Green Wave were idle in Week 5, so the former LSU QB and Tulane take on Army next weekend. McMillan’s season stats:44-of-87 for 610 yards and 5 TDs against 2 interceptions, and 40 carries for 245 yards and 4 TDs.

4. Shea Patterson, Michigan (last week: 5)

Nothing like a visit from Rutgers to cure what ails you. The former Ole Miss quarterback accounted for 4 touchdowns in No. 19 Michigan’s 52-0 destruction of the Scarlet Knights, who promptly fired head coach Chris Ash. Patterson was 17-of-23 for 276 yards and 1 TD against 1 INT, and he rushed for just 4 times for 4 yards — but scored 3 touchdowns.

3. Jacob Eason, Washington (last week: 3)

The former Georgia QB continues to shine in Seattle, as he went 16-of-26 for 180 yards in No. 15 Washington’s 28-14 victory over No. 21 Southern Cal. Through 5 games, Eason has completed 103-of-145 attempts for 1,243 yards and 10 touchdowns against just 2 interceptions.

2. Justin Fields, Ohio State (last week: 2)

The former Georgia QB has the No. 4-ranked Buckeyes rolling, as he accounted for 4 total touchdowns in a 48-7 spanking of host Nebraska. Fields was 15-of-21 for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns in the air, and rushed 12 times for 72 yards and another TD. He has accounted for at least 4 TDs in every game as a Buckeye.

Ohio State scored on its first 6 possessions and led 38-0 after a dizzying 1st half. By the time Nebraska finally scored, the Buckeyes had rolled off 124 consecutive points since trailing Miami (Ohio) 5-0 last week.

“I think we’re very confident right now,” Fields told reporters. “We came into Lincoln — the crowd is amazing here — and it was loud at the beginning. We handled it well, jumped on them early and didn’t let up.”

1. Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma (last week: 1)

Hurts and No. 6 Oklahoma continued their decimation of any team put in front of them: this time a 55-16 beatdown of Texas Tech in Norman. Hurts was 17-of-24 in the air for a career-high 415 yards and 3 touchdowns, and threw his 1st interception of the season. He also rushed 9 times for 70 yards and a TD.

Saturday marked the 2nd time this season Hurts has recorded 450 or more offensive yards, making him the 4th Oklahoma player to do it multiple times in the same season. His yards per attempt (17.3) against Texas Tech was the 3rd highest in a game in Big 12 history.

For the season, Hurts has completed 66 of 85 attempts for 1,295 yards and 12 touchdowns, and has rushed for 47 times for a team-high 443 yards and 5 TDs. The passing yards total is good for 19th nationally — 851 yards behind Washington State’s Anthony Gordon and 423 behind Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa, who have both played 1 more game. Hurts’ rushing yards place him 23rd nationally and the No. 1 QB among rushers nationwide.

“Jalen made some nice throws,” Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley told reporters afterward. “He’s seeing the field pretty well. … He was a little more confident today, a little bit more steady.”

Next up for Oklahoma: a trip to Lawrence to face the Les Miles-coached Kansas Jayhawks. Hurts For Heisman!
