Ranking all 130 FBS football squads is no easy task, but SBNation gave it a shot on Monday, pitting every team against one another and coming up with an impressive list.

All 14 SEC teams were ranked in the top 55 of the list, which you can see here. Alabama, unsurprisingly, led the way at No. 1 in the “contenders” tier, with Auburn and LSU coming in slightly behind the Crimson Tide in the “could easily be contenders” category:

  • No. 1 — Alabama
  • No. 7 — Auburn
  • No. 10 — LSU
  • No. 18 — Georgia
  • No. 21 — Florida
  • No. 22 — Texas A&M
  • No. 28 — Mississippi State
  • No. 29 — Tennessee
  • No. 35 — Kentucky
  • No. 36 — Arkansas
  • No. 44 — Ole Miss
  • No. 45 — South Carolina
  • No. 51 — Mizzou
  • No. 55 — Vanderbilt

Georgia is the first SEC East team listed, coming in at No. 18 on the list, and Vanderbilt brings up the rear at No. 55.

Of course, once the season starts, everything will change. But, for now, this seems like a pretty accurate ranking of all the SEC squads.
