SEC lands more 5-star 2019 athletes than every other Power 5 conference combined
When it comes to recruiting, the SEC is the undisputed king. In addition to having four of the top-five 2019 recruiting classes, the conference also thumped the other Power 5 conferences in terms of 5-star recruits.
In fact, the SEC landed so many 5-star recruits that it ended up being more than the other four P5 conferences combined.
As you can see below, the SEC landed 20 of the 34 5-star players in the 247Sports composite rankings:
#NSD19 — There were 34 Composite 5-stars this recruiting cycle and 50 percent of those kids signed with Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama.
Conference breakdown of 5-stars

Here’s a breakdown of how many 5-stars each SEC squad landed:
- Georgia — 5
- Alabama — 3
- LSU — 3
- Texas A&M — 2
- Auburn — 2
- Tennessee — 2
- South Carolina — 1
- Ole Miss — 1
- Mississippi State — 1
There’s a reason the SEC consistently puts the most players in the first round of the NFL Draft, and it all starts on the recruiting trails.
