Steve Spurrier on why trash talk doesn't matter: 'If talking mattered, Georgia would've beaten us a lot more'
Every year, coaches stress to their teams that they don’t want players giving opponents bulletin board material to use for extra motivation.
However, Steve Spurrier thinks that line of thought is a bunch of nonsense, and he expressed his feelings on it in typical Head Ball Coach fashion.
As you can see in the tweet below, Spurrier said if trash-talking mattered, Georgia would have beaten his Florida and South Carolina teams a lot more:
Steve Spurrier tells @ESPNUpstate needling your opponent and making them mad has nothing to do with the outcome of the game “If talking mattered Georgia would’ve beaten us a lot more.”

There’s no one who trash talks quite like the HBC, and when you win as many games as he has, you have earned that right.
Spurrier isn’t going to stop talking anytime soon, but he can back up his talk, so that’s what matters most.
