Alabama-LSU is usually one of the best games of the SEC season, as the two teams are often very evenly matched.

However, even though there have been some close games, the Tigers haven’t beaten the Crimson Tide since 2011.

Because of that, talented LSU LB Devin White said he doesn’t consider the Alabama game a rivalry game, as LSU hasn’t had any success against their SEC West foes in recent weeks. He explained his views in the video below, shared by Mike Gegenheimer of The Advocate:

“Yeah, it’s a big game, but it’s not a rivalry game to be, because a rivalry game is somebody you beat back and forth,” he said. “Bama, I’m 0-1 against them. Hopefully we can change that next week, but we’ve just got to have a great week of preparation and we’ve got to keep doing what we’ve been doing the past couple of weeks.”

White also discusses the respect Alabama and LSU have for each other, citing both schools’ ability to send players to the NFL.

There’s a reason both teams generally schedule their bye weeks before this game, and this year’s contest is sure to be a good one.

Whether LSU can get over the hump for the first time since 2011 or not remains to be seen, but it’ll be exciting to watch next weekend.
