WATCH: Temple takes huge loss on third down, forced to punt on 4th-and-goal
When you get to 1st-and-goal, you’re supposed to at least end up with three points on that drive, barring a turnover.
However, on Saturday afternoon, the Temple Owls managed to screw up their goal-to-go situation in a more unusual way.
As you can see in the video below, the Temple quarterback scrambles around trying to avoid pressure from the Houston defense before taking a huge sack:

Faced with 4th-and-goal from the 36-yard line, the Owls made the surprising decision to forgo a field-goal attempt and sent out the punt team:

In related news, the Owls trail the Cougars 7-0 late in the first quarter.
Perhaps they should try to avoid punting in goal-to-go situations for the rest of the afternoon.
