Where each of the 2019 NFL Draft picks played high school football
When it comes to recruiting, college coaches know where to go to find the deepest pools of high school talent.
Florida, Texas and California are the biggest producers of top talent, and that trend held true all the way through college and into the 2019 NFL Draft.
As you can see below, Charles Power of 247Sports tallied up where each of the 2019 picks played high school, and those three states led the way:
Final tally of where NFL Draft picks played in high school:
Florida-33
Texas-27
California-21
Georgia-14
Ohio-13
Louisiana, Mississippi, Virginia-10
North Carolina-9
New Jersey-8
Illinois-7
Alabama, Tennessee, Washington-6
AZ, MO, OK, PA, SC, UT-5— Charles Power (@CharlesPower) April 27, 2019
Georgia is producing an awful lot of top college talent these days, so we’ll see if that translates over to the NFL Draft in a couple of years.
Florida, Texas and California aren’t going anywhere, though, so expect those states to continue to lead the way in terms of producing elite talent.
