Continuing our late-season daily series looking at the recruiting circuit in the SEC, we analyze the conference’s top commits at defensive tackle for the 2015 recruiting class. The SEC East is loading up on potential run-stoppers with three different five stars, including Top 10 national standout Trent Thompson, on the way.

SEC’s Top Commits Series

Using each player’s 247Sports Composite rating, here’s how the SEC’s top defensive tackle commits stack up and where they stand nationally against other standouts at the same position:

1. GEORGIA — Trent Thompson, 6-4, 292, Albany, Ga., Five-Star (1): The top defensive tackle in the country received a near perfect grade from several recruiting services and has a quicker first step than any player at his position. Explosive off the snap, Thompson will play in the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and is the consensus No. 1 prospect in Georgia.

2. TENNESSEE — Kahlil McKenzie, 6-4, 319, Concord, Ca., Five-Star (2)

3. TEXAS A&M — Daylon Mack, 6-1, 330, Gladewater, Texas, Five-Star (4): In need of a top interior pass rusher up front to serve as a 1-2 punch alongside star defensive end Myles Garrett, the Aggies believe this kid could be the solution. Texas A&M’s strength at the point of attack has been tested throughout the season and Mack provides near instantaneous improvement in the trenches.

4. TENNESSEE — Shy Tuttle, 6-3, 311, Lexington, N.C., Four-Star (6): Another top prospect heading out of ACC country to the SEC, Tuttle committed to Tennessee on Sept. 26 over North Carolina, Clemson and N.C. State. He managed 18 sacks as a sophomore in 2012, the season that really opened the eyes of scouts across the Southeast. An every down player, Tuttle has an endless motor.

5. ARKANSAS — Hjalte Froholdt, 6-4, 282, Bradenton, Fla., Four-Star (14): One of the speed guys of this group, Froholdt’s lanky frame fits in nicely to what the Razorbacks are trying to do defensively at a program on the verge under Bret Bielema. Froholdt’s the latest expect Arkansas signee from the Sunshine State and committed midway through his junior season.

6. MISSISSIPPI STATE — Fletcher Adams, 6-3, 260, Brandon, Miss., Four-Star (18)

7. ALABAMA — T.D. Moton, 6-3, 310, Shreveport, La., Four-Star (22)

8. TEXAS A&M — Kingsley KeKe, 6-3, 290, Richmond, Texas, Three-Star (26): Another expected signee who will boost Texas A&M’s girth up front, KeKe’s a strong and athletic pass rusher out of Richmond. Lead recruiter Clarence McKinney was in a war with TCU and Baylor for KeKe’s services but got the near 300-pounder to commit in June.

9. TENNESSEE — Quay Picou, 6-3, 287, Buford, Ga., Three-Star (28)

10. AUBURN — Juantavius Johnson, 6-2, 330, Lincoln, Ala., Three-Star (30)
