If you missed the story earlier, the Tallahassee Democrat broke the news that police were called to Deondre Francois’ apartment in Tallahassee early Wednesday morning.

No charges or arrests were made, however, some disturbing details have emerged from the police report, obtained by Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated. It appears no charges were filed in part because Francois and his pregnant girlfriend told contradictory stories to the police after they arrived. A fellow FSU teammate, who provided a statement to police, backed up Francois’ account of events.

Here’s an excerpt from the police report obtained by Sports Illustrated regarding the incident:

Francois’s girlfriend, who told police that she is nine weeks pregnant, claims that Francois became angry, broke down a door, picked her up and threw her down, causing her to cut her forearm. Francois claims the woman started the argument and cut her forearm while breaking a vase. He told police that she locked herself in his room and began destroying property. He claims he picked her up when she attempted to pull a television off the wall.

A messy situation however you want to look at it.

Francios’ girlfriend did not want to press charges against the FSU quarterback but did have some interesting comments to the police, including asking them to scare him. That request was followed up by claims that he was using drugs.

“She advised me that she did not want Francois to get into ‘trouble trouble’ but she did want me to speak with him to ‘scare him a little. [The woman] then asked if Francois would get in trouble if he ‘smoked weed.’ [The woman] advised Francois had ‘smoked the weed earlier.’”

This looks to be Willie Taggart’s first off the field episode he’ll have to deal with as head coach of FSU. It will be interesting to see how he handles this situation moving forward.
