The College Football Playoff only includes the top-four teams in the country, and many think it should be expanded to eight.

That would allow the champions from the Power 5 conferences, the best Group of 5 team and two wildcard squads to compete for a title.

However, don’t count FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd among those looking Playoff expansion. As you can see below, Cowherd passionately argues against the expansion to eight:

“If we had an eight-team Playoff, you know what wouldn’t matter this weekend?” Cowherd asks. “The game everybody in the country wants to watch — Georgia-Bama. Why would I have to watch it? What would be the point of watching it? I don’t have to watch it. They’re both getting in.”

It seems like momentum is building toward an eight-team Playoff, but there are certainly arguments to be made for keeping it at four.
