TaxSlayer Bowl president names the 2 SEC teams they'll pick between
The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl is a big New Year’s Eve bowl game, and it will pit an SEC team against a Big Ten team.
According to Gator Bowl president Rick Catlett, the bowl already is down to two SEC teams that will be playing in Jacksonville this bowl season.
Per Catlett on 1010 AM, either Texas A&M or South Carolina will be playing in the game this year:
Gator Bowl Pres Rick Catlett to @1010XL: 'We’re either going to have A&M or South Carolina and both of those are home runs for us. A&M would be great. Probably one of the largest alumni bases of any SEC school. We’re also looking at South Carolina, which can drive down in a day'

That, obviously, comes as a bit of a disappointment to teams like Mississippi State and Missouri, who also had hopes of making it to the Gator Bowl.
For now, though, it looks like the Aggies or the Gamecocks will be playing in Jacksonville on New Year’s Eve.
