Florida Gators fans may remember Urban Meyer talking about his son, Nate. Well – this might make you feel old – Nate is a college athlete now.

The Cincinnati Bearcats had no trouble with UConn in the AAC tournament down in Clearwater, Florida, winning the championship game 22-5. Even in the blowout, the Bearcats had to get all 27 outs to win the tournament. The final out came on a great catch from Nate. Shelley Meyer had a predictable mom tweet, telling him to “watch out for the rail.”

As winners of the AAC, Cincinnati is guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament, its first trip since 1974. The Bearcats, however, will have to find out where they play when the tournament bracket is unveiled Monday as they are not one of the 16 Regional hosts.

Could Urban and Shelley be returning to an SEC campus? It’s not like Urban has any coaching duties to worry about.
