Draft hopefuls from across the nation converge on Indianapolis on an annual basis to prove themselves at the NFL Combine.

The event serves as an opportunity for prospects to show off their elite athleticism and measurables in the hopes that they will catch the eye of NFL teams and rise up the draft boards.

You go to the combine to make an impression. Unfortunately for South Florida tight end Mitchell Wilcox, he made an impression that he would most likely like to take back.

During a catching drill, the former South Florida tight end took a football to the face. To his credit, he kept going and finished the drill.

He also had a good attitude following his viral moment, too. Here’s what he tweeted out after getting drilled in the face:

“Rough day at the office for sure. Couldn’t see well out of my left eye and was disoriented after that ball.. I’ll bounce back.”

If you missed it, here’s a video of Wilcox just missing this catch.
