Texas, along with fellow Big 12 school Oklahoma, will eventually move to the SEC. The exact year of the move has yet to be determined.

Naturally, the rest of the Big 12 isn’t too thrilled with Texas over that move, so Longhorns players are hearing it from opposing fans.

One Texas defender told ESPN he feels like the Longhorns have targets on their backs:

“We’re sitting right in front of the student section, so you know we’re getting the whole SEC talk,” Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown said after a 32-27 victory over the Horned Frogs on Saturday. “It might be our last time playing them, might not be. Wherever we go, we know that we’ve got that target on our back, that people don’t feel like we belong in the SEC or we can play with them. So they’re going to talk.”

Yeah, that’s what happens when you leave a conference, Longhorns. The other members don’t have to take it lying down.

Meanwhile, star RB Bijan Robinson said he doesn’t care about all the noise:

“I can hear it in the back, constant bad stuff,” Robinson said. “I don’t care. I just keep a smile on myself and keep worrying about what’s at task, what’s ahead. It’s just fun to see the team come together and block that stuff out.”

The good news? Texas and Oklahoma square off in Dallas this weekend, so both squads will get a 1-week respite from the trash talk of their fellow conference members.
