Deion Sanders has worked wonders at Jackson State, putting the struggling FCS program on the national stage. It’s almost inevitable that the NFL legend could find himself at the FBS level before it’s all said and done.

One potential destination? Georgia Tech. According to FOX college football insider Bruce Feldman on Saturday, Sanders has emerged as “a name to watch” for the Yellow Jackets’ vacancy. The fact that Sanders has ties to Atlanta from his playing days won’t hurt matters.

“You’re talking about a guy who was a big star with both the Falcons and the Braves, and he would make that program immediately relevant nationally and pump a lot of needed life into that place,” said Feldman.

Feldman then reported that “Auburn may target Deion Sanders” if Bryan Harsin is fired during or after the 2022 season, after noting that Georgia Tech would have to prove that it is committed to football if it’s to be an attractive prospect for anyone looking to head there.

“You’re talking about a guy who showed his recruiting prowess last year by beating everybody—everybody, including Nick Saban—for the No. 1 recruit in the country in Travis Hunter to get him to go to an FCS program. And as one coach told me this week, ‘Good luck to the guy who has to do the in-home recruiting visit before or after Deion Sanders.”
