Paul Finebaum is a proud Tennessee alum, and let’s just say he has a ton of reason to be proud of his alma mater this Sunday.

The Tennessee Volunteers took down No. 3 Alabama on Saturday, 52-49, ending a 15-year losing streak to the Crimson Tide and adding to their own impressive résumé.

Finebaum appeared on SportsCenter on ESPN on Sunday morning and ranked his top 4 teams in the country. As you might expect, he took the opportunity to get his Vols into the mix:

4. Michigan Wolverines: “Michigan is not dead either. They are really looking good. Jim Harbaugh’s team played brilliantly yesterday against Penn State, and you can make a case for Michigan anywhere in the top 4. I have them at 4.”

3. Tennessee Volunteers: “They could be higher, too. How about the University of Tennessee? It’s been a long time since the Vols where anywhere near this rarified air, but with Hendon Hooker now the favorite to win the Heisman, Tennessee is looking ahead. They have Georgia in 3 weeks.”

2. Georgia Bulldogs: “They have a lot more to do until they get to Tennessee. They are starting to roll after a hiccup a couple weeks ago. They rolled over Vanderbilt, which I’m not sure that’s really saying a great deal.”

1. Ohio State Buckeyes: “The No. 1 team did not play yesterday in Ohio State. I still think right now, which means nothing, they are the best team in the country.”

How long will Tennessee stay in the top 4? A showdown against Georgia looms large in a few short weeks. We’ll see then if the Vols can keep the magic going!
