Mizzou vs. Kentucky is a big game for both teams in the SEC East on Saturday. A win for the Tigers would likely pave the way to bowl eligibility this season. Meanwhile, the Wildcats will be looking to bounce back from a lopsided loss at Tennessee last weekend.

The stakes are high on both sides, but perhaps even higher for Mizzou, as Kentucky has won 6 of the last 7 games in this rivalry.

Over at Underdog, there are ways to get in on the action by making fantasy picks for Georgia and Tennessee players’ over/under stats.

What is Underdog and why should SEC fans care?

Underdog is a new daily fantasy platform backed by investors such as Mark Cuban, Kevin Durant and Adam Schefter.

This isn’t what you might think about fantasy sports though. Through Underdog’s “Pick’em” contests, you can bundle a few selections of player prop picks similar to what you find at sportsbooks, and yes, you can put real money against these picks. Check out the screenshots below for Kentucky and Mizzou picks this week:

Underdog Fantasy is available in 41 states, so a lot of those southern “SEC” states where sports betting is not yet legal? Yep, you can do Underdog Fantasy picks for real money, as we’re outlining here. It’s really fun.

Underdog Fantasy is not available in the following states: CT, DE, HI, ID, IA, LA, MI, MT, NV.

My picks for Mizzou vs. Kentucky

Let’s start with the Mizzou side. Specifically, let’s discuss Luther Burden, the sensational freshman who has had an up-and-down season:

The Tigers, specifically head coach/play-caller Eli Drinkwitz, have had a tough time figuring out how to get the ball to Burden. But, if they’re going to have any chance of winning this game, they’re going to need the talented freshman. I like the “higher” for 25.5 receiving yards this week for Burden.

Next, let’s move to Mizzou’s new RB1, Cody Schrader. Since taking over as the Tigers’ featured back after the off week, he’s been great. Against Vanderbilt, he had 14 carries for 84 yards. Against South Carolina, he tallied 22 carries for 81 yards. Thus, 56.5 yards seems low for him. Kentucky has a solid run defense, but the Wildcats are still allowing 124.6 yards per game to opponents on the ground. Take “higher” than 56.5 rushing yards for Cody Schrader.

Now, we move to Kentucky. Specifically, let’s take a look at QB Will Levis’s numbers:

If Kentucky is going to win this game, it’ll be because of a big day from Chris Rodriguez. (As a side note, I like the “higher” for his 90.5 rushing yards total.) But, the Tigers have an opportunistic secondary and a stout pass defense. That doesn’t bode well for Levis, who takes a lot of chances he shouldn’t.

Even if he has a better performance than his 98-yard, 3-interception outing against Tennessee last week, I still think 225.5 passing yards is a bit too high. Take the “lower” on Levis’s passing yards.

How many picks should you make?

The more picks you string together, the higher the “multiplier” or payout. Of course, the more you string together, the less likely you are to win because all of the picks have to hit in order for you to win.

I prefer to take 2 higher/lower bets and go for the 3X multiplier. So, my best picks this week would be to do a double-running back situation and take the “higher” options for both Rodriguez and Schrader.

Another option would be to pair Burden’s “higher” with Levis’s “lower,” which I also think will be successful.

Either way, it should be a physical game in Columbia, Missouri, on Saturday!
