Danny Kanell still has Clemson at No. 1, ranks 4 SEC teams in his top 8
Many analysts around the country are dropping Clemson in their rankings following the Tigers’ narrow escape vs. North Carolina on Saturday.
Would it surprise you if I told you former Florida State QB Danny Kanell was not one of those analysts?
In his updated post-Week 5 top 8 rankings, he still has the Tigers at No. 1, with 4 SEC teams making the list:
No need to wait til tomorrow….after 5 weeks of college football #DKtop8
1. Clemson
2. Bama
3. Ohio State
4. Oklahoma
5. Georgia
6. Auburn
7. LSU
8. Wisconsin— Danny Kanell (@dannykanell) September 29, 2019
In response to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky questioning Kanell’s rankings, he replied that Clemson will be No. 1 until it takes a loss:
Nah bro I got principles! #1 stays #1 until someone knocks them off. Period. End of story.

In his post-Week 1 rankings, Kanell justified leaving Georgia out of his top 8 because he didn’t think they impressed against Vanderbilt. Now, he’s saying that a team can’t drop in his rankings unless it loses.
Tune in next week to see how Kanell’s rankings logic changes once again!
