The preseason magazines aren’t the only ones rolling out with their predictions as college football analytics and predictions site McIllece Sports has released its 2017 Top 30 and conference division picks.

If you haven’t heard of McIllece Sports, it gained notoriety last offseason for predicting Tennessee to finish No. 1 in the nation — this season they are picking Ohio State as the No. 1 team in the nation. Despite missing the mark on the Vols in 2016, McIllece Sports still managed to rank as the most accurate preseason prediction source from 2014-2016 according to the Stassen Poll.

McIllece runs 100,000 full season simulations to come up with its rankings. The division percentage numbers below indicate the percentage of the time the school won its division during the 100,000 simulations.

While there is no such surprise at the top of McIllece Sports’ 2017 SEC predictions this offseason, the poll does have Tennessee as the highest ranked East team this preseason and has Texas A&M finishing third in the West. Florida ranks outside the Top 25, down the list at No. 29.

SEC teams listed in McIllece Sports’ 2017 Top 30:

  • Alabama #2 in the nation, 10-2 record
  • Auburn #10 in the nation, 9-3 record
  • Tennessee #18 in the nation, 8-4 record
  • Texas A&M #20 in the nation, 8-4 record
