The biggest matchup in the SEC this weekend will take place at Jordan-Hare Stadium, where the Auburn Tigers will play host to the LSU Tigers.

This game has serious SEC West implications, and should prove to be a hotly contested affair.

On Tuesday, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” and weighed in on the matchup, saying he thinks Auburn will ultimately come out with the win (via 247Sports):

“One of my favorite games every year, since I was a little kid,” Herbstreit said Tuesday. “The LSU-Auburn game has alway been a hard-hitting, emotional game. Lots of great athletes and speed and this year is no different. I think (LSU quarterback) Joe Burrow is going to prove to be one of the best quarterbacks they’ve had since maybe 2010 or 2011.

“It’s been awhile since they’ve had a guy this capable. He can run, he can throw and has kind of been a steady hand for them. But let’s be honest, this will be his first real test in a hostile environment. I’m anxious to see how he does and if LSU has enough offense to pull off an upset. I think it’ll be tough to beat Auburn, especially at Jordan-Hare.”

As Herbie said, Burrow will likely be the key to this game. However, Auburn’s defense has looked incredible so far this season.
