PV got some nice facility upgrades so hopefully the new coach can push the program to the front of its conference.
Not so fast. Bama and GA are at about the same talent level which usually favors the media-proclaimed underdog. That role has now been flipped.
The Razorbacks have played at 110% all season, and this kid epitomizes the culture of the team. Well deserved.
Exactly Vive. It happens all the time that back-to-back games with similarly matched opponents gives the advantage to the previous loser. These are kids and the winner often come in with the mindset that the rematch is in the bag. I don't want a retread in a CFP game.
A late season head-to-head like this where Bama looked much better should eliminate Georgia from the CFP, but I don't think it will. Heck, the Tide looked as good as they have all season. However, getting a second win over the same team with similar talent, which Bama and GA are, can be difficult which brings me back to my point. See Baylor/Ok State among others.
They’ll be fine. Most programs have had longer spells of drought.
I could list just as many reasons why Ole Miss could win: Injuries on both teams. Ole Miss does have a defense - Campbell and Williams just to name a few. the Rebels' only losses were road losses, they have home field advantage. A&M's signature wins were both at home. Small has accounted for may points, but it will take more than field goals to overcome Ole Miss's offense.
“No chance.” Does anyone really believe that? Corrall may not be 100% but give me a team that isn’t dealing with injuries at this point, and don’t forget that The Rebels’ losses where on the road and have talent on defense with guys like Williams and Campbell. Ole Miss is playing A&M at home, and the Aggies have not been dominant outside of Kyle Field. I might favor slightly but it looks very close to 50/50 to me.
Would like to see how Fisher develops the program but he can leave. No buyout to receive, no term money to pay out for A&M. You need a coach who wants to be there whether CS or BR.
I like Bama’s year over year consistency and always wish the Tide well when not playing my team, but this year ain’t it. OU is morr deserving of the top 4. Trust me, it kills me to say that.
Held my evening open to watch this game because I kew it would be a battle. I wasn’t disappointed.
You are right, it's about matchups, not linear relationships.
The “list” of premier programs can and does change. Until very recently, LSU was unquestionably a premier program. But the off field issues have tarnished that reputation. Don’t want to poke at the Tigers too much since I think it’s just temporary. Injuries have been als been a big impact but are largely out of anyone’s control. Will the program return to the list? Definitely.
The blown calls were disappointing. No officiating team is perfect 100% of the time but I’ve always viewed SEC officiating as superior to most other conferences. Doesn’t matter it’s #14 vs #1 or #6 vs #7 or an OOC opponent. Let’s hope this was an anomaly.
I think Fan is saying that this year is a steeper hill than PY vs Bama.
I expected A&M to take a step back this year on offense, no surprise there. Georgia is looking like a total team, Bama is Bama, Ole Miss looks much improved, and this could be the Razorback’s year vs the Aggies…seriously. I think the Tigers, Aggies, and Gators still have some unanswered questions, but a lot of respect to Florida in hanging with Bama in that game and Auburn’s play in HV

Some quarterbacks take a whole season. Zach figured it out in time to win a game in a tough environment.
I agree that notwithstanding the score, A&M played a competitive game against one of the best 'Bama teams I've seen. Which is a huge standard to match up against. But the resurgence of LSU has been nearly as impressive. The Tigers also are a challenge with just as much depth as the Tide. Right now the west is as tough as it gets
Gill did you really attend A&M? You remind me of a disguised "fan" in some other sites. Regardless you need to stop crowing about A&M vs LSU or change your icon and go back where you belong
A&M has learned from the previous seasons but still lacks the depth of many SEC West teams. Like Ark., they still have plenty to do.
Illinois would definitely a step in the right direction. Would certainly garner more interest than Eastern Michigan or Delaware State.
