With another weekend of college football in the books, the SEC league office has officially named its Week 9 SEC Players of the Week:

Offensive Player of the Week – Kamryn Pettway, RB, Auburn

  • Rushed for a career-best 236 yards and one touchdown as Auburn piled up 307 rushing yards in a 40-29 road victory at Ole Miss.
  • His 236 yards marked the third consecutive game he re-established a career best after recording 169 at Mississippi State and 192 vs. Arkansas.
  • He is the first Auburn running back to record 150 or more yards in three straight regular season games since Carnell Williams accomplished the feat in 2003. In that three-game stretch, he is averaging 199 ypg with six touchdowns.
  • The SEC’s leading rusher with 933 yards in only six games of action, Pettway is averaging 156.2 ypg against SEC opponents with four 100-yard games and seven touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the Week – Jamarcus King, DB, South Carolina

  • The junior college transfer intercepted two Joshua Dobbs’ passes in the Gamecocks’ 24-21 upset win over No. 18 Tennessee.
  • His first interception set up the Gamecocks second touchdown of the game, while his second pick came late in the fourth quarter, helping seal the win. He added five solo tackles and was credited with a pair of pass break ups.
  • The Gamecocks limited Dobbs to just 12-of-26 for the game for 161 yards.
  • King has already been named the College Sports Madness SEC Defensive Player of the Week.

Special Teams Player of the Week  – Daniel Carlson, PK, Auburn

  • Converted 4-of-4 field goal attempts and 4-for4 PATs on Saturday in Auburn’s 40-29 road win at Ole Miss with a long of 47 yards.
  • Carlson was true from 45 yards in the first quarter, 32 yards in the second quarter and nailed a 30 yarder to go along with the long make of 47 in the critical fourth quarter push.
  • The 32-yard field goal in the second quarter gave Auburn a 20-19 lead and his fourth quarter 30-yard boot put the Tigers on top for good.
  • Carlson leads the SEC and ranks fourth nationally with 17 made field goals on the season (17-of-18; 94.4 percent). He also leads the SEC with 90 points, a total that ranks fifth nationally.
  • Carlson had converted 58-of-69 field goals (84.1 percent) in his career – the third-best mark in SEC history.

Freshman Player of the Week – Benny Snell, Jr., RB, Kentucky

  • Rushed 38 times for a UK freshman record 192 yards and two touchdowns in Kentucky’s 35-21 win at Missouri.
  • In addition to being the UK freshman record, 192 yards is one of the top 10 rushing performances in UK history.
  • Has eight rushing TDs this season, breaking Randall Cobb’s UK freshman record of seven rushing TDs (2008).
  • Made a 23-yard run to set up his own 1-yard TD plunge in the second quarter. • Gave UK an insurmountable 35-7 lead with an 18-yard TD run on the opening play of the fourth quarter.
  • Accounted for nine first downs during the game in addition to his two TDs.
  • It is his third 100-yard game of the season, most for a Wildcat freshman in 20 years.

Offensive Lineman of the Week – Martez Ivey, OL, Florida

  • Ivey and the rest of the Gator O-line helped Florida reach 100 yards rushing, which included a 4-yard touchdown run from Antonio Callaway.
  • With that touchdown, Callaway became the first player in school history and the 21st FBS player since 1996 to score a rushing, receiving, passing, punt return and kickoff return touchdown in a career.

Defensive Lineman of the Week – Adrian Middleton, DT, Kentucky

  • Made four tackles, including a tackle for loss, in Kentucky’s 35-21 win at Missouri.
  • His tackle for loss came at a key moment. o With UK leading 7-0, on a 3rd-and-1 play at the end of the first quarter, Middleton threw a Tiger back for a two-yard loss to force a punt.
  • UK took the punt and turned it into a touchdown drive, increasing the lead to 14-0.
  • The Kentucky defense opened the game by forcing six straight punts, enabling the Wildcats to build a 21-0 lead.
  • The UK defense limited Missouri to 4 of 15 on third-down conversions.
