Former Alabama running back Derrick Henry is going to need a bigger trophy case.

Yes, the Heisman Trophy will be in there, along with many other awards he racked up for his incredible 2015 season. The four we know that will be in it for sure are the SEC Offensive Player of the Year award, the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, the Doak Walker and the Maxwell Award.

I’m sure Henry would love to add a couple Super Bowl rings in the future.

It was announced Monday that Henry was up for another award. He was named a semi-finalist for the AAU James E. Sullivan Award, which has been presented annually since 1930 to the most outstanding amateur athlete in the United States. Previous winners include Peyton Manning, Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Michael Phelps, among others.

“We are truly excited about this year’s class of semi-finalists for the AAU James E. Sullivan Award,” said Dr. Roger Goudy, President/CEO of the AAU, said in a release. “Each one of them embodies everything this award aims to celebrate – athletic achievement, leadership, citizenship, character and sportsmanship – both on and off the field.”

Henry is one of 16 candidates to win the award. Other SEC nominees include Andrew Benintendi (Arkansas baseball) and Ben Simmons (LSU basketball).
