Former New Mexico head coach Mike Locksley will join Alabama’s football staff, according to a report from AL.com.

Locksley is expected to become an offensive analyst for the Crimson Tide, which is a support staff role and is not a part of the official assistant coaching staff.

Locksley served as Maryland’s offensive coordinator and interim head coach in 2015, leading the Terrapins to a 1-5 record following the dismissal of Randy Edsall.

He is a former Florida assistant coach (2003-04) under Ron Zook, and has a reputation for being a good recruiter.

Locksley holds a 3-31 career record as a head coach, winning just two of the 28 games he coached at New Mexico.
