No. 1 Alabama will face its biggest test of the young season when it visits No. 19 Ole Miss at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on CBS.

Coach Nick Saban knows passing that test starts up front.

“This is the best front we’ve played against. They’ve got some big guys, fast guys,” Saban said during Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference. “Pass protection will be critical with the pass rusher they have. This will be a real test with the group they have up front.”

On the other side of the ball, Saban is well aware of how the Rebels (1-1) have beaten the Crimson Tide (2-0) two years in a row.

“We’ve given up big plays that were the difference in the game,” he said. “If there’s anything I’ve seen (on film), it’s their ability to get us with the big play.”

Senior quarterback Chad Kelly has facilitated plenty of big plays for Ole Miss this season, and Saban thinks he’ll “get an opportunity to play at the next level.” The coach couldn’t compare Kelly to any other quarterbacks around the country, but he said his defense will need “eye discipline” to counteract Kelly and his explosive array of receivers.
