Does any SEC team fit its shortened nickname as well as the Hogs?

Bret Bielema has defined Arkansas’ brand of football. The team wants to dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball with hulking, physical players.

In that spirit, the Razorbacks already have landed two defensive tackles in the 2016 class, both hulking four-star players. The first of those, Austin Capps, is the No. 2 player in the state of Arkansas this recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

The team is not done adding bulk, one would suspect. Starting right guard Frank Ragnow will return in ’16. But the Hogs lose the other two offensive line starters inside as well as Ragnow’s backup.

With all that focus on the big men, Bielema and his staff can’t neglect the skill positions on offense. T.J. Hammonds is an interesting get — he could play in the slot, act as a versatile third-down back or serve as a returner. But there’s work to do at both receiver and running back in this ’16 class.

The team has a long way to go with only six commitments thus far, but there’s plenty of time. If Arkansas continues to show an upward trend on the field, Bielema should be able to check everything off his shopping list in February.
