Arkansas enters its Week 12 contest with Mississippi State on a four-game winning streak. If there’s one thing that the opposing Bulldogs know, it’s recent winning streaks. Dak Prescott and Mississippi State travel to Fayetteville on Saturday with a three-game win streak of their own against the Razorbacks. All told, this is the 26th meeting between the two programs, with Arkansas holding a 15-9-1 edge.

A Mississippi State (7-3, 3-3 SEC) win draws the Bulldogs even with Arkansas in the SEC West at 4-3 within conference play. The Hogs (6-4, 4-2) can stay at second in the division with a win.

Here are five players to keep an eye on when the Razorbacks host the Bulldogs during Week 12 action:

  • Arkansas QB Brandon Allen – Brandon Allen followed up his 442-yard passing day in Week 10 against Ole Miss by leading Arkansas to an upset win over LSU. The Razorbacks are surging after losing to Alabama in Week 6, reeling off four-straight wins. Allen’s resurgence has been a major factor in the Hogs’ turnaround, throwing for 1,081 yards and 12 touchdowns — including a program-best six against Ole Miss — during that span. The Mississippi State secondary is better than any of the teams Arkansas has beaten during its four-game win streak, holding opposing quarterbacks to 195.9 YPG this season, fifth-best in the SEC.
  • Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott – Dak Prescott’s streak of 32 consecutive games accounting for a touchdown (best in the nation) ended last week in a loss to Alabama, despite throwing for more than 300 yards in a career-high fourth-straight game. Prescott became the 12th quarterback in NCAA history, and second after Tim Tebow in the SEC, with 8,000 passing yards and 2,000 yards on the ground. The senior’s 314 yards of offense against the Tide gave Prescott 10,599 for his career and moved him past Ole Miss’ Bo Wallace and Danny Wuerffel of Florida for No. 8 all-time in SEC history.
  • Arkansas RT Dan Skipper – The SEC named Dan Skipper as its Offensive Lineman of the Week after the Razorbacks’ frontline paved the way to the program’s most rushing yards in an SEC game (299 yards) since the 2007 season. Behind the line, Arkansas leads the SEC in 200-yard rushing games with six overall, including five within conference play. The Razorbacks have allowed just 11 sacks on the season, second-fewest in the SEC. On Monday, the Joe Moore Foundation named Arkansas as one of its 20 semifinalists for its postseason honors. The biggest offensive line in either the NCAA or NFL has a decent shot at winning the inaugural award that recognizes the toughest offensive line in the nation.
  • Mississippi State WR Fred Ross – Fred Ross is emerging late in the season for the Bulldogs with 115 and 114 yards in his past two contests against two of the SEC’s toughest defenses in Missouri and Alabama. The junior now has three 100-yard efforts on the year and 1,266 receiving yards in a Bulldogs’ uniform. His 662 yards this season are a career-high, but Ross has seen his touchdown totals drop in 2015 from five to two. He forms a formidable wide receivers corps with teammate De’Runnya Wilson, who holds a 2-yard edge over Ross for fourth overall in receiving yards in the SEC. Saturday’s matchup with Arkansas is a favorable one for the duo and quarterback Dak Prescott, as the Razorbacks yield an SEC-worst 282.3 yards per game via the air.
  • Arkansas DT Deatrich Wise Jr. – Deatrich Wise Jr. entered this season with one career start, but has made the most of his junior campaign with 7.0 tackles-for-loss, tying him with Jeremiah Ledbetter and DeMarcus Hodge for the team lead. Wise earned 2.5 of his 4.5 sacks against LSU as the Hogs front line held high-powered Tigers run game in check with just 59 total rushing yards. All told, Arkansas tallied 5.0 sacks, 8.0 TFL and broke up six passes in the win over LSU.
