Gus Malzahn seemed confident in the future of Auburn’s football program during his SEC Coaches’ Car Wash appearance on SportsCenter Monday. The fourth-year head coach said that he thinks “the next 3-4 years are fixing to be some of our best.”

Auburn finished seventh in the SEC West with a 7-6 (2-6 SEC) overall record in 2015, despite being picked to win the SEC Championship during SEC Media Days last July. Malzahn is believed by many to be on the hot seat after seeing a decrease in wins during each season since leading Auburn to a BCS title game appearance, conference championship and 12-2 (7-1) overall record in 2013, his first year as Auburn’s head coach.

The Tigers will likely need to improve their record in 2016 for Malzahn to see his 3-4-year plan reach fruition.
