Whatever relationship Heath Evans had with Gus Malzahn before last weekend likely took a hit following comments by the former Auburn player. But as the coach tells it, there wasn’t much of one to begin with.

Evans, an NFL Network analyst who played fullback for Auburn from 1998 to 2000, was critical of Malzahn following the loss at LSU on Saturday. Evans posted several items on an cell phone notes document and posted them to Twitter as sort of a job application response.

Evans explained how he would be a successful coach at Auburn and several ways to do it.

When asked about the comments on Tuesday, Malzahn said he’s not sure if he’s talked with Evans since the coach has been at Auburn.
