Auburn offense’s in the first half against Arkansas was just a lethal as it was last season. Only difference was that the Tigers did it with a Jeremy Johnson at quarterback and they did it through the air. Unfortunately, the Tigers defensive was completely gashed by Arkansas’ offense which did it on the ground and through the air. The result a 21-21 time at halftime.

The way Johnson played, particularly in the first quarter, you can ask the question if the Tigers have a quarterback controversy. The 6-foot-5 sophomore carved up the Arkansas secondary completing 12-of-16 passes for 243 yards and two touchdown passes. Johnson completed his first seven passes that included a 49-yard touchdown pass to Melvin Ray that gave the Auburn the early 7-0 as well as a 62-yard passing strike to JUCO transfer Duke Williams.

It seems through one half that Williams and Johnson have developed a rapport with Williams hauling in 7 balls for 138 yards. One of the seven catches went for an 18-yard touchdown

Cameron Artis-Payne got the start at running back for Auburn over Corey Grant and delivered 55 yards on 14 carries including a 1-yard touchdown run.

Auburn’s Daniel Carlson missed a 41-yard field as time expired.

The Arkansas running backs – Alex Collins, Korliss Marshall and Jonathan Williams have combined for 140 yards on the ground. The Hogs offensive line has manhandled the Tiger front four.
