The Auburn Tigers are planning an incredible new $28 million addition at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

According to Opelika-Auburn News, the new 44,000-square-foot gameday facility will be built in the southwest corner of the stadium, and it will enhance the Tigers’ recruiting space and a 16,000-square-foot renovation to the home locker room. The multi-story facility will feature a designated space for football and Olympic sports recruiting, a new club space for fans and a new press box for the media. The paper obtained documents included with Auburn University’s board of trustees meeting agenda.

The project seeks approval at the February 3 board of trustees meeting, and if given the OK, it could be finished prior to the 2018 season.

The arms race of college football facilities is a continual development around the country, and Auburn will be receiving a nice little facelift at Jordan-Hare Stadium with this enhancement. There’s been talk about Jordan-Hare receiving some sort of update over the last several years, and this is a step in that direction.
