Boozer Pitts

Boozer Pitts played football for Auburn in the early 1900’s and spent nine seasons as a coach for the Tigers in the 1920’s. Pitts worked as an assistant coach from 1919-1922 and took over as head coach of the Tigers in 1923. In two seasons his teams went a combined 7-7-4, but Pitts was demoted back to an assistant beginning in 1925. He took over the Tigers midway through the 1927 season, finishing the year 0-4-2 before retiring from coaching. Pitts passed away in 1971 at the age of 77.
