Comment on Former Washington QB Brock Huard Says Pac-12 Will Dethrone The SEC
Dec 11, 2011 12:27 AM
Ok so let's make it simple for Brock so if it is in black & white maybe he can see the absurdity of his comments. Since the BCS Championship was created after this years game here is how the conferences stack up; Conference Titles SEC 8 Big XII 2 ACC 1 Big Ten 1 Big East 1 Pac 10 - "12" 1 Brock are you kidding me, yes things do go in cycles and I agree Larry Scott has been a great addition to the conference but what do you think is going to happen when Mike Slive renegotiates the TV deal for the SEC with the the new markets of Texas & St. Louis/Kansas City markets. The Pac 12 contract will be Mike's blue print on how to get a larger TV contract for the SEC than the Pac 12 has. So if Brock big reason for the Pac 12's sudden rise in the future is because of their currently signed TV contract that is the largest of all conferences, what is he going to say when the SEC's contract is larger than the Pac 12's next. Look Brock we get it nobody likes a bully and the SEC with it's 8 champions are the big bully's on the block and we all respect you trying to speak up for the conference you played in, dare I say some "bias" on your part. But It is one of those comments that people say "what were you thinking?" Did you actually here Chip Kelly's comments "a coach that has had to play the SEC teams, instead of broadcasting the games" when he stated that the SEC has "a different breed of athlete down there." Are you suggesting that the athletes in the south are going to go to Pac 12 schools because of the TV rights, when the SEC will actually have better TV rights after they sign a new contract, now your argument doesn't hold water. So we are back down to superior athletes, coaches and facilities down south as what will keep the SEC dominant for many years to come Go SEC!!!!! Thanks for making it 6 years in a row!!!! Brock it is ok to dream though!!! [View]
Comment on The LSU Economy

Wow, what shocks me the most about that article is that there were only 36,000 units sold in that game, if that were at Death Valley I can't even imagine the amount of units sold. I would imagine it would be at least double that. Geaux Tigers [View]

Clark Walker, as a diehard LSU fan & alumnus I want to apologize for the group of LSU fans that were "the meanest, rudest, most obnoxious drunks" you had the displeasure of dealing with, anyway you slice it that is not right and you should not have been subject to that kind of abuse. That being said we definitely don't corner the market in those kinds of fans. Case in point 3 years ago I went to a home game "myself, my wife and my 9 YEAR OLD SON "at the time" and we were spit on and curse at for just chanting Tigerbait. That is all we did!!! Just so you get a little more perspective of the atmosphere we were at a Razorback home game!!! My point being is that people who live in Glass Houses should not throw stones. Every single University in the SEC has those fans that we would like to dis-associate ourselves with, but we can't all we can do is apologize for them and hope that it happens less and less as people grow up. Comment on Ole Miss AD Pete Boone Responds To Unhappy Fans

The problem is for you Rebel fans is that the buyout for Nutt is pretty steep $5million this year and $4million in 2012 which will make any board think twice before they let him go. Now the question is, is the price worth the action and if you look at what Houston Nutt has truly accomplished since going to Ole Miss my thoughts are absolutely. Those 2 Cotton bowl wins and the seasons he put up in his first 2 years were done on Ed O's stockpile of talent, and everybody thought Ed left the cupboards full and he did. Now last year and this year are totally on Nutt's guys and you see what he has accomplished. The sooner he is gone the sooner you guys can try and get back to the glory years problem is the money might be too much to stomach, but then a 3-9 season might be too much to also. Good luck you guys are going to need it!!!!!! [View]

LSU defense is everything it has been billed to be "big, strong, fast and nasty" it looks like it is going to be a long season for the OC's that face that defense. I think what people should truly note from that performance last night that as good a run defense as LSU has shown in the first 2 games and again last night, the defensive front four is starting to show that great push needed up front to start to make a lot of sacks - 5 last night along with the 16 TFL they are beasts up front and the "Freak" is the REAL DEAL. Comment on A Few Numbers Showing How Nasty LSU’s Defense Was In Starkville

jacobamos, hey no matter how you try and down play it - Bama has a great defense and obviously after 3 games LSU's defense is everything it has been billed to be. When you are fighting to be #1 or #2 in the SEC in actuality that is the same thing as saying you are fighting to be #1 or #2 in the country. We should all be SEC proud, I know I am. It is fun living on the West coast and sticking it to these Pac-12 boys everyday about playing in a real conference, but the best part about it is when they now even admit the SEC is where they play the best college football in the land and now even the Pac-12 coaches are admitting it. It is good to an SEC man!!! [View]
Comment on LSU vs. MSU…That Was SEC Football
Sep 16, 2011 12:00 PM
If there were any doubters left before the MSU game, there should be none left after the LSU game. Is there room for improvement obviously after every game you break down game film to figure that out. But this LSU team is a very, very good team and all of us LSU fans should be proud as all get out as to what Les Miles and his staff have built at LSU. This team and this coaching staff are the real deal, I don't know if we play for the NC this year but however well we do, we should all be proud of the football being played at LSU "Bleed Purple, Live for Gold" Geaux Tigers!!!!! Comment on LSU Wins In Very LSU-Like Fashion
Sep 16, 2011 11:39 AM
Bugtussel, come-on lighten up a little, I understand you are a little disappointed but look at things realistically. The SEC west is the best division top to bottom in College football, period end of story!!! You have played two top 25 teams back to back, with LSU ranked in the top 3. You played a barn burner in Auburn last week and if Auburn doesn't make a tackle for the ages you win that game "on the road." On 4 days rest you played the number 3 ranked team in the nation who is averaging 45 points a game and held them to 19 points. And let's face it in the first half it was really close. Is MSU a Bama or LSU, not yet but they are right there cut them a little more slack. You saw what your team did to Michigan last year, you have a good football team and a great coach your time is just around the corner and I truly don't believe you could say that since JS left the program. How good they will actually be, I think they will be really good if you can keep DM, if you can't well back to the cellar. I know it is a disappointing loss, but be realistic you were not supposed to win that game but your kids played their hearts out against a very, very, very good LSU team. So don't hope DM takes his talents elsewhere, in fact you should be saying the exact opposite and getting people to jump on the MSU bandwagon because playing MSU now is not like it used to be. I will tell you how it used to be, I would look at our schedule and one of the auto wins I would mark down was the MSU game, now I go "crap we have to play those guys that is going to be a tough game I sure hope we get out of there with a win!!!!" Because if DM leaves, you are going right back down to the games that are auto wins and I know that is no fun. So get back on the MSU bandwagon and convince other people to do so also, because the worst thing a fan base can do is after all the hard work the head coach is putting in "and compared to where you guys were before DM got there he has put in a whole lot of work" is for the fan base that is supposed to love their team through thick and thin to lose faith!!!!! Comment on Which SEC Football Team Produces The Best NFL Players?
Sep 15, 2011 5:49 PM
Jon, well since this is an SEC website and it is always fun to poke at other SEC schools currently LSU is the top of the heap simply because it has the most players CURRENTLY "key word being currently that is why it is capitalized" in the NFL. So rock on Tigers with a big GEAUX TIGERS. But I feel that us SEC-ites should be proud as hell of that list from top to bottom, I have to believe 283 current NFL players "I hope that math works out, no calculator on hand and I did graduate from the SEC so who knows" is tops from any conference out there. We should be all proud of the caliber of football our conference plays and the talent we have in the conference, I know I am!!!! To me this just proves "that is if the last 5 national titles don't the SEC is the best in the land and if you want to be the best than come down and play the best in the SEC, that is if you have the stones to do so!!!! --- Geaux LSU and Go SEC!!!! --- Keep up the great work!!! Comment on What Texas A&M Brings To The SEC
Sep 15, 2011 5:28 PM
Chuuuuck, I wish more OU students and alumni felt the way that you do. Any conference in the nation would be lucky to pick up a program like OU's and that does not just include your football program but your baseball and basketball programs are SEC caliber also. I hate the talk of OU to the Pac-12 other than the fact that OU will be able to run all over the competition in the conference there for making it easier to play in BCS bowls and for National Titles "obviously all relevant" I feel there is nothing more that the Pac-12 can offer OU. In fact I feel it will the negatives of going to the Pac-12 could actually hurt the program in the long run. OU recruits out of state "mostly Texas" and I feel their landing recruits especially from Texas would subside somewhat since there would be no games against Texas universities on their schedule if they do move to the Pac-12. And recruiting from California the state with the largest recruiting base in the Pac-12 will be difficult because of the distance. So in my opinion OU going to the Pac-12 instead of the SEC will possibly be a mistake and it could hurt the school down the road if the school loses their recruiting base in Texas and has to replace that with California.
