This is what they call a “paycheck game” in more common sports parlance.

New Mexico State enters Saturday night’s date with Florida as the heavy underdog, but the Aggies won’t go away with nothing even if the score turns out to be as lopsided as expected.

The Sun Belt Conference program will pocket a cool million dollars for coming to The Swamp and serving as the likely sacrificial lamb in the season opener for both teams.

But that doesn’t mean that New Mexico State doesn’t have some very good players. It just means they just probably don’t have nearly enough to hang with the likes of the Gators.

The Aggies are 0-12 all-time against SEC teams.

Nevertheless, here are the names of a few New Mexico State players that Florida fans will still want to know.

1. RB Larry Rose III: Rushed for 1,102 yards and nine touchdowns as a freshman last fall to become the first Aggies player to eclipse the 1,000-yard rushing mark since 2011. Rose recorded a career-high 229 yards on 35 carries against Louisiana-Monroe.

2. QB Tyler Rogers: The junior quarterback endured an erratic season in 2014, passing for a career-high 2,779 yards to rank sixth on the school’s all-time single-season high passing yardage lists. Rogers completed nearly 62 percent of his passes, but poor decision-making at times led him to toss more interceptions (23) than touchdown passes (19).

3. WR Teldrick Morgan: The speedy redshirt junior was a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference pick in 2014 after registering 75 catches for 903 yards and seven touchdowns. Morgan totaled a career-high yards receiving against UTEP and had two games in which he recorded 10 receptions. He also returned 16 kickoffs for an average of 23.1 yards per return to rank fourth in the league in that category. He will likely be matched up against Florida All-American cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III while playing receiver on Saturday night.

4. CB Winston Rose: The fifth-year senior is New Mexico State’s best defensive back. He amassed 46 tackles last season, including 37 unassisted stops, while adding a team-high five interceptions, two pass break-ups and a fumble recovery.

5. LB Rodney Butler: The junior middle linebacker made 11 starts last year, totaling a team-best 119 tackles, including 58 unassisted stops. Butler tallied eight games of at least eight tackles, including a career-high 17 at UTEP.

Others To Watch: DE Stephen Meredith, LB Derek Ibekwe, LB Dalton Harrington, RB Xavier Hall, S Kawe Johnson.
