Florida wide receiver Antonio Callaway has been cleared to play in Week 1, according to head coach Jim McElwain. McElwain said he found out Friday that Callaway was cleared to play and expects him to be ready for the Gators’ opener against UMass on Saturday.

The sophomore was suspended for violating the school’s code of policy in January, which was later revealed to stem from sexual assault allegations. However, an Aug. 12 Title IX hearing determined Callaway did not commit either penalty.

Callaway returned to the team during fall camp after missing all of spring practice. The 5-foot-11, 198-pound receiver led the Gators with 678 yards and four touchdowns on 35 receptions as a true freshman and is expected to be the team’s No. 1 wide receiver in 2016.
