The University of Florida Athletic Association announced a significant change to its 2016 bag policy at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and it’s a change that could impact many people.

The Gators are going to require that any bag brought into the stadium be of the “clear” variety.

Florida also will no longer allow fans to bring in their own personal seatbacks to attach to the bleachers.

According to the school’s press release, these changes were made with fan safety in mind.

Fan safety is at the forefront of all of our decisions. Each year, in an effort to ensure a safe environment for those individuals that attend Florida Football games, the University of Florida and University Athletic Association, review public safety and stadium security policies.  This measure will enhance safety both inside and outside of the stadium.

Here’s a look at what the school will deem acceptable and what will not be allowed:

APPROVED BAGS

  • CLEAR plastic, vinyl or PVC  bags that do not exceed 18″x6″x 18″
  •  One-gallon clear, re-sealable plastic storage bag
  •  Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5″x6.5″, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap
  •  Medically necessary items (after proper inspection)

Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to:

  • Purses
  •  Backpacks
  •  Cinch/Drawstring Bags that are not clear
  •  Briefcases
  •  Coolers
  •  Fanny packs
  •  Luggage of any kind
  •  Computer bags
  •  Camera bags
  •  Binocular cases
  •  Personal seatbacks
  •  Any bag larger than the permissible size
