2014 Belk Bowl

This year’s Belk Bowl wasn’t much of a contest, thanks to the legs of Nick Chubb.

The true freshman running back bowled over the Louisville Cardinals’ defense for 269 rushing yards and two touchdowns, leading Georgia to a 37-14 win.

Chubb’s performance overshadowed what would have been a disappointing night for the Bulldogs. Seniors Hutson Mason and Michael Bennett were knocked out of the game due to injury and safety Quincy Mauger also left the game with an injury.

Coming into the game, Louisville ranked second in the nation in run defense, behind only Alabama.

Chubb’s 269 rushing yards set both a UGA bowl record and was the most ever by a freshman in bowl history.

The win gave Georgia double-digit wins for the third time in four years.
