2014 Georgia Tech vs Georgia
This was the first time both Georgia and Georgia Tech were ranked since 2011 when facing each other and the two rival teams didn’t disappoint.
Nick Chubb broke out early on for the ‘Dawgs, racking up 65 total yards and a touchdown on UGA’s opening drive. But Georgia Tech settled in and wore UGA’s defense out throughout the game thanks to a dominating triple-option offense.
It appeared UGA had the game won when Hutson Mason fired a touchdown to Malcolm Mitchell with just 18 seconds left in the game, but a squib kick followed by a big run from GT’s quarterback Justin Thomas set up a game-tying FG from 52 yards out as time expired.
It was Mason who gave the game away for UGA in overtime, throwing an INT in the first overtime period after GT scored a touchdown on its first possession.
