2014 Northern Illinois vs Arkansas
The Arkansas Razorbacks kept on rolling Saturday night against a pesky Northern Illinois team. It was never in doubt for the Hogs, who took down the Huskies 52-14 at home.
Things got off to a fast start for Arkansas, thanks to running back Korliss Marshall who returned the opening kick off 97 yards for the touchdown. The Hogs defense then followed that big play up with one of their own – a 14-yard scoop and score for defensive tackle Darius Philon.
Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams enjoyed modest games, rushing for a combined 148 yards and just one touchdown, but the offense’s true star was the quarterback.
Brandon Allen’s stats weren’t spectacular either – just 199 passing yards and two touchdowns – but the junior quarterback once again looked efficient and capable of doing what it takes to give the Hogs a more balanced offense down the line.
His night was highlighted by a 44-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Keon Hatcher mid-way through the fourth quarter.
Arkansas has another big matchup looming next week when they travel to Arlington, Texas to take on top-10 ranked Texas A&M in a neutral-site conference clash.
