2014 Texas A&M vs Auburn

It was a game defined by poor play from both defenses. True freshman Kyle Allen, making his first road and SEC start for Texas A&M, threw for 277 yards and Kevin Sumlin’s reeling Aggies came to Jordan-Hare Stadium as a team on a mission.

They accomplished that mission in a stunning 41-38 upset of No. 3 Auburn. Were the Tigers caught looking ahead to next week’s game against Georgia? Turnovers and penalties killed the Tigers all night, and its defense could not get off the field on third downs.

With the loss, Auburn’s playoff hopes were dashed, and now must find reason to get motivated for road games at Georgia and at Alabama left to come.
