2014 Tennessee vs South Carolina
There was no black magic in these uniforms.
Donning all-black apparel for the first time since the 2009 season, South Carolina blew a 14-point lead with less than two minutes in regulation before falling in overtime during an epic Tennessee comeback as the Vols left Columbia with a 45-42 win.
Tennessee sophomore quarterback Joshua Dobbs accounted for five touchdowns and 467 yards of offense, stealing the thunder away from South Carolina’s Pharoh Cooper who set a new school-record with 233 yards receiving. Cooper was responsible for four scores — rush, two receptions, pass — to lead a Gamecocks offense that amassed 625 total yards.
Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier made a brief opening statement after the game concerning his team’s third home loss, then left the podium during his press conference, neglecting to answer questions from reporters.
