2014 Louisiana Monroe vs Texas A&M

Texas A&M started true freshman Kyle Allen at quarterback after announcing a two-game suspension for Kenny Hill.

The offense, despite a bye week and then a game against a middle-of-the-road Sun Belt Conference opponent, struggled to move the ball, finishing with just 106 passing yards in a too-close-for-comfort 21-16 home win against Louisiana-Monroe.

Speedy Noil made an acrobatic touchdown catch and Armani Watts corralled an athletic interception for the Aggies (6-3, 2-3), which concluded the non-conference portion of the 2014 schedule at 4-0.

Myles Garrett claimed 3.5 of Texas A&M’s 7 sacks against Louisiana-Monroe, breaking Jadeveon Clowney’s SEC record for a freshman with three games remaining. Garrett now has 11 sacks in 2014 as a true freshman.
