Tom Crean’s Georgia basketball program just got better on the court as Stony Brook graduate transfer Andrew Garcia has committed to the Bulldogs.

Andrew Slater was the first to report the news of Garcia’s decision to transfer to Georgia. Garcia’s decision comes just over a week after the former Stony Brook player entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The former Stony Brook standout will be eligible immediately next season in Athens as he’s a graduate transfer.

Garcia averaged 13.4 points and 6.7 rebounds last season at Stony Brook. His point averaged ranked third on the team, while his rebounding total led the team. Garcia was a second-team All America East Conference selection following last season.

The Bulldogs finished last season with a 16-16 record and will be replacing seniors Tyree Crump, Donnell Gresham Jr. and Jordan Harris in addition to the loss of SEC Freshman of the Year Anthony Edwards.
