In need of depth at wide receiver after the departure of Michael Bennett and Chris Conley who have exhausted their eligibility, Georgia’s coaching staff is pleased to have several four-star commits at the position expected to sign in February.

One that is wavering on his decision is Van Jefferson, a 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl selection and son of former NFL wideout Shawn Jefferson. Expected to enroll early before the dead period began, Jefferson backed off his original plan to see what the Bulldogs were going to do offensively following Mike Bobo’s exit and to finish up necessary math classes needed to qualify.

Now that Mark Richt has found his new offensive coordinator in Brian Schottenheimer, the ball is in Jefferson’s court. He’s expected to take official visits this month to Florida, Texas and Texas A&M. Ole Miss is another program in the running for Jefferson.

Jefferson has posted back-to-back 1,200-yard seasons at Ravenwood High in Brentwood, Tenn.
