Kentucky got a late boost to its roster when it received word that Marvin Robinson, wide receiver from the 2015 recruiting class, had declared he was headed to Lexington.

Per Larry Vaught, Robinson was ready to play for Wisconsin but did not qualify academically, therefore never saw the field:

Robinson had 36 catches for 559 yards and two scores his senior season [of high school]. He had scholarship offers from Wisconsin, Florida State, Indiana, Minnesota, Akron and Florida A&M. He was set to go to Wisconsin but apparently did not qualify academically and sat out last season.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound Robinson was considered a ‘sleeper’ coming out of high school but played on a high school team loaded with Division I talent. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 or 4.5 seconds (depends on which scouting report you read) and also has superb athleticism.

He gives Kentucky another tall, athletic receiver and only adds to the choices that Gran and quarterback Drew Barker will have this season.

Robinson was considered a 3-star prospect and the No. 146 player at his position in his class. He joins a receiver group that consists of Garrett Johnson (46 receptions, 694 yards, two touchdowns in 2015), Dorian Baker (55 rec., 608 yards, three touchdowns), Jeff Badet (29 rec., 409 yards, two touchdowns) and several other talented — yet still progressing as a unit — pass-catchers.

He will join the team as a walk-on for the 2016 season.
